This page features both sculptural and functional pieces in forged steel. I initially developed a self-taught approach to blacksmithing when I was a sculpture grad student at Kent State University, and I later had the opportunity to explore functional smithing and architectural metalwork as a fabricator for Comunale Sculptural Concepts in Akron, Ohio. Forging continues to figure prominently in my studio work, and when time allows, I utilize these techniques to create functional artworks.
